HOLIDAY MARKETPLACE COMING SOON!
Get ready to shimmer, shine and shop! The Holiday Marketplace—a Kingwood tradition for more than two decades—is coming back to the Humble Civic Center on October 25-26.
The popular attraction was cancelled last year because of the Corona Virus, but now is roaring back bigger than ever before. Shoppers can browse through a hundred booths from vendors that travel here from across Texas to display their wares.
This two-day shopping extravaganza is organized by volunteers from the Kingwood Women’s Club, a philanthropic group that donates all proceeds from the event to charity.
Opening night, Oct. 25, is a preview party that includes not only shopping but complimentary wine and appetizersfrom 6 pm to 9 pm. All-day shopping is the next day, Oct. 26, from 9 am to 4 pm with complimentary champagne to toast the reopening along with a food court stocked with smorgasbord of tasty snacks.
In addition, the first hundred shoppers will receive a special handmade pumpkin in their shopping bag. Those attending can also win free door prizes and participate in a silent auction and raffle of many luxury items and trips.
“Our theme this year is shimmer, shine and shop!” said Kingwood Women’s Club president Ellie Csengery, as the entry to Humble’s large center will be decorated with everything from strings of twinkling lights to a sleigh. “We have something for everyone and all the upcoming holidays—Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.”
Thousands of shoppers come to enjoy the experience and have the added benefit of known the tiicket sales and a percent of booth sales will go to support 10 area charities. “This event in the past has allowed us to give away over $100,000. We are hoping for a banner year this time,” said Kathy Adkins, the club’s ways and means chairwoman.
Starting in September, entry tickets can be purchased online at .kingwoodwomensclub.org or from three area retailers–Gnome Sweet Gnome, The Forest Collection or Atascocita Ace Hardware.
The civic center is located at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway in Humble. Parking is free.
